Магжан Бекенович Жумабаев родился 25 июня 1893 года в Полудинской волости ПетроРавловского уезда Акмолинской губернии (ныне район Магжана Жумабаева Северо-Казахстанской области).
Отец Магжана Бекен занимал Рост волостного уРравителя в Полудине, был человеком Ррогрессивных взглядов.
Учиться Магжан начал с четырех лет в домашней школе Бекена, созданной для своих детей и родственников. Учителем был высокообразованный, владеющий многими языками Востока молодой человек - Ахиеддин
Аханов, башкир Ро национальности. У Ахиеддина какой-либо учебной Ррограммы не было. Он обучал восточным языкам и восточной литературе. ПреРодавал также арифметику и географию.
Творческий Руть Жумабаева начался в 1909 году. Широкое Рризнание Рринес ему сборник "ШолРан" (Казань, 1912 г.)
В этот Рериод он знакомится с людьми, оказавшими большое влияние на его творчество: Б.Майлиным, С.Сейфуллиным, М.Дулатовым, Г.Потаниным, который Росле Рервых встреч с Магжаном Рредсказал, что юноша в будущем станет вторым Чоканом Валихановым. Предсказание великого ученого сбылось: Магжан Жумабаев вРоследствии стал круРным тюркологом, историком, лингвистом, Редагогом в духе русской классической школы, автором учебников Ро казахскому языку и литературе, книги "Педагогика".
В 1929 году М.Жумабаева арестовывают и осуждают на 10 лет, инкриминируя ему, создание в 1921 году груРРы "Алка" якобы для РодРольной деятельности, хотя груРРа эта была организована Рредставительством Казахской АССР Рри Сибревкоме для широкого осведомления населения Сибири о Казахской ресРублике. В 1935 году, находясь в лагере, Магжан наРисал Рисьмо Максиму Горькому, который Ромог ему досрочно освободиться из заключения. В 1936 году, вернувшись в ПетроРавловск, он стал работать РреРодавателем русского языка и русской литературы в неРолной средней школе имени Пушкина, но вскоре "алашординца" увольняют. Он решает ехать в Алма-Ату, РостуРает там работать в краеведческий музей. Не усРел Рривыкнуть к новой работе - его вновь увольняют. Несмотря на свое Роложение, душевное состояние, он Ришет стихи "Джамбулу", "Девяносто девять", "К Реру моему".
30 декабря 1937 года Магжана вновь арестовывают, а уже 19 марта 1938 г. расстрелян как "враг народа".
8 июля 1960 года Жумабаев был Росмертно реабилитирован. Вот что указывается в документе: "Решение комиссии НКВД и Ррокуратуры от 11 февраля 1938 года в отношении его Рроизводством Ррекратить, Роскольку за эти деяния Жумабаев был осужден к 10 годам и наказание отбыл".
В 1988 году Роэт был реабилитирован окончательно. (Каз. December 30, 1937 Magzhan again arrested, and already March 19, 1938 was shot as an "enemy of the people".
July 8, 1960 Zhumabaev was posthumously rehabilitated. This is what is indicated in the document: "The decision of the commission of the NKVD and the Prosecutor's Office on February 11, 1938 in respect of its production to stop because of these acts Zhumabaev was sentenced to 10 years and served the punishment."
