אבן שמואל APK Description
אֶבֶן שְׁמוּאֵל הוא יישוב קהילתי דתי לאומי ישראלי במועצה האזורית שפיר, הממוקם כ-4 ק"מ דרומית לקריית גת וסמוך למושבים עוזה, שלווה, נועם, איתן ואחוזם.
היישוב אבן שמואל הוקם בשנת 1956 תחת השם "אומן". מאוחר יותר שמו שונה לאבן שמואל על שמו של הנדבן היהודי-קנדי שמואל ברונפמן שתרם להקמת בית הספר ומועדון הנוער במקום. היישוב נועד להוות מרכז ליישובים הדתיים בחבל לכיש והוקמה בו תחנת טרקטורים ומרפאה אזורית[1]. אולם לאחר שמועצה אזורית שפיר מיקמה את המרכז שלה ביישוב מרכז שפירא (הממוקם צפונית מאבן שמואל), אבן שמואל נותר לשרת שישה מושבים בלבד. בשנת 1965 היישוב הגיע לידי משבר ו-15 המשפחות האחרונות בקשו לעוזבו[2]. אולם היישוב התגבר על הקושי ובשנת 1967 נבנו בו 10 דירות חדשות עבור המרכז החינוכי במקום[3].
כיום היישוב מונה כ-200 משפחות. בשנים האחרונות היישוב נמצא במגמת הרחבה ובנייה. נבנית במקום שכונת הרחבה חדשה, המוכרת בשם "אבן שמואל החדשה", ובה קוטג'ים ובתים צמודי קרקע. Abn Smoal religious community is an Israeli national Shafir Regional Council, located approximately 4 km south of Kiryat Gat and near seats Uza, peaceful, pleasant, firm and Ahuzam.
Even Shmuel settlement was established in 1956 under the name "Artist". Later the name changed to stone the name of Samuel Jewish philanthropist Smoal Bronfmn Kennedy contributed to the school and youth club instead. Settlement is intended to be a center of religious communities in the Lachish region and established its tractor plant and a regional clinic [1]. But after Shafir Regional Council has placed its center Shapiro community center (located north Mabn Smoal), Abn Smoal was left to serve only six seats. In 1965, the community came to a head last 15 families ask leaves [2]. But the community has overcome difficulties and in 1967 it built 10 new apartments for local education center [3].
Today the community numbers about 200 families. In recent years the community has been on the expansion and construction. Instead built a new expansion neighborhood, known as' the new Abn Smoal ", with cottages and private homes.
