لقد كفل الإسلام للمرأة حرية الاختيار في العقيدة والزواج وسائر أمور الحياة ، وكفل لها حقوق كثيرة منها الحق في التملك والشراء والبيع والهبة وجعل لها نصيباً معلوماً في الميراث ، وحافظ على كل حقوقها وقدرها أماً وأختاً وزوجة وابنة الخ .... ، وجعل لها مكانة عظيمة لم يصل اليها اي مجتمع ، فالمرأة المسلمة تشارك زوجها في الحياة وتعينه وتشير عليه وتربي أولادها التربية الإسلامية الصحيحة على منهج خير الانام محمد طب القلوب ودوائها وعافية الابدان وشفائها صلى الله عليه وسلم ، وحافظ الإسلام ايضا على المرأة بمحاربته ظاهرة وأد البنات وهي دفنها حية من كراهته لها أو غيرته عليها وهذه كانت منتشرة في الجاهلية . وكان في ذلك أعظم درس للناس يعلمهم أن لا فرق بين ذكر وأنثى وأن التفاضل بينهما لا يكون إلا بالتقوى والعمل الصالح .
