التطبيق عبارة عن قصة الزير سالم كما رواها الرواة و الحكواتية في الازمنة القديمة تحتوي على اشعار و وقائع رائعة.
الزير سالم رجل عاش في الجاهلية في شمال الجزيرة العربية و هو فارس من فرسان قبيلة تغلب. اسمه: عدي بن ربيعة ...بن تغلب...بن عدنان. أما ألقابه فقد لقب بعدة ألقاب أولها : الزير سالم و الزير أصلها (زير النساء) أي جليسهن.و اللقب الثاني هو : المهلهل و ذلك لذكره هذه اللفظة في أشعاره واصفا نفسه كما قال: من مبلغ الحيين أن مهلهلا أضحى قتيلا في الفلاة مجندلا لله دركما و در أبيكما لا يبرح العبدان حتى يقتلا أما أبناؤه و كنيته: فله ابنتان هما ليلى و بها يكنى أبا ليلى و له ابنة أخرى هي عبيدة و منها خرج بنو عبيدة.
