يعتبر من الكتب المؤلفة في تفسير الأحلام. رتبه مؤلفه عبد الغني النابلسي على حروف المعجم، معتمداً الحرف الأول فقط، جامعاً كل جنس إلى جنسه. فكل ما كان من الحيوان أوله همزة تجده مجموعاً في باب الهمزة، وكل ما كان من البشر، وكل ما كان من الأدوات والثمار والفواكه، وكل ما كان من المعاني والألفاظ .
