「長岡まつり大花火大会」
名物「正三尺玉」をはじめ、音楽とシンクロしたストーリー性のある「天地人花火」「花火 この空の花」、全長約２㎞にもおよぶ超ワイドス゠ーマイン「フェニックス」など壮大な花火の数々が夜空を彩ります。
一見華やかに見える大花火大会ですが、長岡まつりは昭和２０年（１９４５年）８月１日の長岡空襲で亡くなられた方々の慰霊と長岡の復興を願って開催された「長岡復興祭」が起源です。そのため、大花火大会の開催日は毎年８月２・３日に固定されています。
長岡まつり大花火大会は、慰霊と復興、平和への祈りを込めて打ち上げている花火となっています。
