Paritta,generally translated as "protection" or "safeguard", refers to the Buddhist practice of reciting certain verses and scriptures in order to ward off evil fortune or dangerous conditions, as well as to the specific verses and discourses recited as paritta texts. This app is chanted by Thai monks, but I incorporated the romanized text for ease of chanting. You can also used this app as chanting machine for your altar. Just play the music and put your mobile device on your altar, will also invoke blessings to your household throughout the day. The practice of reciting or listening to the paritta suttas generally used in Theravadan countries such as Sri Lanka, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, Laos and many other Southeast Asian countries.
Paritta discourses are widely used and known throughout the Theravada Buddhist world. Popular collections of paritta verses are among the most widely known Pali texts in many Theravada countries.
