Litoral Atlántico
En las costas españolas bañadas por el océano Atlántico se pueden distinguir cuatro secciones diferentes : la cantábrica, que se extiende desde el río Bidasoa a la punta Estaca de Bares, la gallega, que comprende desde este punta hasta la frontera portuguesa, la andaluza que incluye las provincias de Huelva y Cádiz, y finalmente la costa de las Islas Canarias situadas en el continente africano.
