For example Atom will disable your Wi-Fi when you leave your home and reactivate it once you need it again. This way you can save some battery because your Wi-Fi is disabled while in standby.
In addition Atom will control your Bluetooth and disable it once you disconnected from a Bluetooth device. Which means that you can for example send a file to another device and once the file is sent your Bluetooth turns off automatically.
