A primeira tradução da Bíblia que leva o nome de João Ferreira de Almeida foi feita no Século 17.
A Bíblia João Ferreira de Almeida é considerada um marco na história da Bíblia em Português porque foi a primeira tradução da Bíblia para o Português feita a partir das línguas originais. (Hebraico e Grego)
Com o passar do tempo, a primeira versão sofreu uma sequência de traduções e revisões nos Séculos 18 e 19 e 20. O objetivo foi atualizar o texto da Bíblia numa linguagem que todos pusessem entender.
Almeida usou como base para sua tradução o chamado “Texto Massorético” para o Antigo Testamento e uma edição de 1633 do “Textus Receptus” para o Novo Testamento. Utilizou, também, no processo, traduções famosas da época, em especial a chamada Reina-Valera, versão em espanhol da Bíblia sagrada.
A Almeida Revista e Corrigida (ARC) em suas primeiras edições serviu como base para diversas outras traduções, como a Almeida Revista e Atualizada, Almeida edição contemporânea e Almeida Corrigida Fiel.

The first translation of the Bible that bears the name of King James was made in the 17th Century.
The Bible King James is considered a milestone in the history of the Bible in Portuguese because it was the first translation of the Bible into Portuguese made from the original languages. (Greek and Hebrew)
Over time, the first version suffered a sequence of translations and revisions in Centuries 18:19 and 20. The objective was to update the text of the Bible in a language that they should put all understand.
Almeida used as the basis for his translation of the so-called "Masoretic Text" to the Old Testament and an edition of 1633 "Textus Receptus" for the New Testament. Used also in the process, famous translations of the time, especially the so-called Reina-Valera, the Spanish version of the Holy Bible.
The NKJV (ARC) in their first editions served as the basis for many other translations, such as the King James Version, Almeida contemporary edition King James Version and loyal.
