This app is intended to help medical practitioner in early diagnosis of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) by using the Clinical Pulmonary Infection Score (CPIS) score. CPIS was developed in 1991 and included 7 clinical parameters for ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) diagnosis. In this scoring system, the clinic is evaluated with radiological and endotracheal aspirate (ETA) culture results. The diagnosis of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) was made using body temperature, leucocyte count and morphology, tracheal secretion amount and character, PaO2 / FiO2 ratio, presence of pulmonary infiltration and its progression and microbiological culture results. Scores ≥ 7 may indicate higher likelihood of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) and need for bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) or mini-BAL.
