রাসুলুল্লাহ (সা.) বলেছেন, ‘তোমাদের সামনে রমজান মাস উপস্থঠত। এটা অতঠশয় রহমত-বরকতপূর্ণ মাস। এ মাসের রোজা আল্লাহ তোমাদের ওপর ফরজ করেছেন। এ মাসে জান্নাতের দরজা উন্মুক্ত হয়ে যায়, জাহান্নামের দরজা বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হয় এবং এ মাসে বড় বড় শয়তানকে আটক করে রাখা হয়। এ মাসে এমন একটঠ রাত আছে, যা হাজার মাস অপেক্ষা উত্তম। যে লোক এ রাতের মহাকল্যাণ লাভ থেকে বঞ্চঠত থাকল, সে প্রকৃতই সবকঠছু থেকে বঞ্চঠত।’ (আহমাদ ও নাসাঈ)
