No server side software is necessary. In most cases, if you can access Microsoft SharePoint from your Android device, you can connect from SPConnect.

How to install SPConnect APK for Android
Download SPConnect APK file (com.acquirednotions.spconnect3_53_5140619.apk) from APKPure.live, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
